my doubt abt this kitchen cabinet?

just take a look at the picture in link given below and tell me what kind of material is used in the kitchen cabinet?

    The cabinets look like they could be melamine foil covered which is like a plastic shiny hard coating probably with a melamine cupboard (covered press board).

    The material in that cabinet is called Thermafoil. It is a heat applied product similar to melamine, formica, etc. It wears well and cleans very easily. If it gets chipped, there is slim if any chance of repair. The only consideration that I would see for "Indian" cooking is the resultant odors that tend to linger. This cabinet won't absorb any odor, but I think that proper venting of the kitchen would be the major consideration.
