Christian Business Owners I need your input?
I own a consignment store. Instead of paying cash for the rent, I come to work extremely early and work for the people who own the building. I do there office work, clean up, or fill orders for them(they are a design firm and I do some of their sewing). Anyway, it came to my attention a few weeks back that they were going to bill a customer for products that are not yet finished. They even went through the trouble of photographing a few of the products to make it appear that the work is complete. Here is my dilemma, being a Christian I am aware that God hates a false measure-that all things both in business and on a personal level should be on the up and up. I have talked with the owner about this, he said he would wait a month to bill them-the work still won't be completed.
Is there a way to truly reach this man about how wrong this is?
He says he is a Christian, but his actions seem to be telling a different story. As a result of his actions, I feel the need to move my business, or close it altogether rather than be associated with this sort of dishonesty.

A lot of people say they are Christians but are not, by way of their daily behavior, and he has shown that to you. Let him know that you will not do what he asks because being a christian that you are, that is illegal and immoral, going against God's Word. The truth is always on your side, no matter what the outcome with this may be.
Trust in the Lord, for He is the truth, and remember that no one can force you to sin, that is a conscience choice you make yourself.
Psalms 86:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
If you go along with this man, knowing what you are doing is a sin, ignoring the convictions you are feeling in your heart, God will deal with you harder because you are ignoring His voice.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
The act of sin is like a cancer that spreads. Don't let that man's spiritual cancer reach you that way. Don't do what he is telling you to do in spite of your working relationship and arrangement you have with him with your rent. Be polite, but stand on God's principles and let that man know you will not bill those people for things not yet completed. I would personally let those people know that your landlord is trying to pull on them, but that is only what I would do.
Would you want to be dealt with the way that man wants you to deceive those people. Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. God will lead you.

We have evolved as social primates to make sure that cheating is observed and punished. This strengthens the survival of our social group. All species of primates watch for and punish cheaters. Now be a good monkey and expose their dishonesty.
