Writing a book, any help?

I am wanting to write a book, I want it to be a sci-fi fantasy novel i have good idea of what i want it to be about it starts on new years eve 1999 main character is a bachelor with very little money barely making ends meet when hes given an offer to be cryogenticly frozen for a large sum of money (havent figured out how much yet) when he wakes up in the future he doesnt care in fact is afraid of it and go on to try to figure out a way to get back to the year 1999, im want to setup it up like an autobiography/diary where hes talking to the reader explaining everything. Opinion on my idea and any suggestions?

My only curiosity is if time actually moved forward and he is in the actual future how do you propose he go about trying to go back in time. I mean unless in this future there exists time travel or alternate time lines. Otherwise your storyline isn't feasible. Science fiction is more or less called speculative science. Most sci-fi or spec sci is based on scientific theories that have proven through experimentation conclusive fact and then follow a line of reasoning that may one day may come to light as workable or total who ha. But for now the theories are sound.

--- For me the fact that you randomly throw in fantasy into the genre only helps to perpetuate that you are looking for the easy way to go as opposed to doing the appropriate research within one specific genre. Sci-fi and fantasy are two totally separate genres that have specific guidelines when presented to publishers and the reading public. Authors who cross the two genres are usually fairly versed and knowledgeable in both.

--- Being a creative writer doesn't mean you get to dispense with research if anything you are more obliged to be as accurate as possible because if you aren't you're readers will definitely let you know.

I liked it I really liked the idea of it being in diary form, and the whole idea of the future and trying to then come back I loved it.

I wish you the best of luck!
