When I try to save an MSword document, it saves as MSworks?
I use MSworks a lot because I'm used to it and have some information that I don't wish to redo as a word or excel document. Sending and receiving email attachments is done in MSword. Lately, when I attempt to save a word doc, it seems to default to works and if I email it, no one can read it because I'm about the only guy on the planet that still uses works a lot. Is there something I'm missing to save word as word?? Thanks for any help.

It sounds like the file extension used for "word" documents has been "associated" with MS Works
this is an easy fix. GO to: "my documents">'tools">"folder options">the folder options window will pop up. Then select the "file types" tab.Click the .doc icon>press"change" button. another window will pop up called "open with" then scroll down until you find MS word.then select it and press "ok" DONE!
Now you have told your computer to "associate" .DOC files with MS word. it should save everything in .DOC format. from that point on.
Hope it helps.

Unfortunately there is no way to return to the previous version before saving... unless a backup copy was made... Or you could always try to consult an expert or go to a computer technician where someone may be able to help you... but I don't really think there is a way to do that
