What are the Chances that the Jets land Mark Sanchez (no pun intended)?
I say 25%. I'm really hoping we get him, but the Niners and Jags looks interested in him.
I really dont feel the need to draft a WR in the 1st round, when we can just get WR Kenny Britt in the 2nd round or Patrick Turner in the 4th or 5th round.
Besides, Torri Holt is still out there. We might be able to get him. Who knows.
But anyways back to the topic, what are the chances the Jets get Sanchez? Do you think we can trade up into the top 10?
imin34- Ohhhh my bad...TORRY. Sheeit stick to the subject you Tard. And stop nitpicking like a little girl.
Jack- The Jets "landing"...get it? Thats why I put no pun intended.
You know because Jets LAND....ahh forget it nevermind.
Zac- 0% Really? Well there is a 100% chance I'm getting lucky with your mom tonight.

you know, this one is actually more difficult to gauge than you might think. the jets are a new york team, even though they play in jersey. anyway, they have a lot of money, but they have spent a lot in the past 2-3 years on guys like favre, alan faneca, damien woody, calvin pace, thomas jones, bart scott, gave kerry rhodes a lucrative contract, vernon gholston (6th pick in last year's draft), kris jenkins, traded for lito sheppard, signed jim leohnard (i know they didn't give him that much, but you see what i'm getting at), and they're going to give leon washington a big extension. also, darelle revis is going to be getting a big extension. that's a lot of money that's being distributed.
now, the jaguars have the 8th pick in this year's draft, which is obviously in the top 10. if the jaguars are genuinely interested in mark sanchez, and some team wants to trade up to get sanchez, they'll get him. however, they'll not just be paying him top 10 money, but top 10 money on a quarterback, the highest paid position. i don't know if the jets want to pay a qb that much money to sit and wait, considering they could develop brett ratliff and kellen clemens, and i heard that the staff is high on ratliff.
also, i think the jets might want to continue to draft defense with rex ryan as the head coach. i could see the jets doing five things.
first, they could stay at 17 and select josh freeman, even though i wouldn't recommend it. his passing is too erratic.
second, they could move up and select sanchez because they do have a lot of money, but i don't see it happening.
next, they move up to 11 and take tyson jackson out of lsu. he's the perfect 3-4 end, which is a need for the jets, and they wouldn't be giving him top 10 money.
or, they sit at 17 and take a receiver, maybe maclin if he slips, though i'm not that high on him.
last, they move back to something like 21 or 22 and select hakeem nicks or local product, kenny britt. receiver is a huge need for the jets.
that's what i see happening.

If he falls all the way to 17 I wouldn't put it past the FO to get him. I like him more than a lot of people, but not quite as much as some. I wish for his sake he stayed in college another year and make a run at the #1 overall pick.
I'm not sure if Britt would fall all the way to us in the 2nd, Hakeem Nicks might but I like Britt a lot more as a potential #1 receiver.
If Sanchez gets taken, I think they trade down and take Tyson Jackson and/or Britt or even Heyward-Bey if he falls that far. I'm convinced that the Raiders would take him in the second, and maybe even the first if Al Davis is having one of those old people "bad day."

He'll be fine against the Steelers... the Jets should just start 9 offensive linemen along with Sanchez and Holmes. That way... Sanchez won't be sacked against anything the Steelers throw at him. I guess this plan means Holmes might have to actually catch the ball though so might not work.

lol That was very PUNNY! (pun intended)
Anyways, person who said torry, was wrong it is Tory. But we all knew who you were talking about so I don't give a d@mn.
I think that the Jets have a 30-40% chance of getting him, though Mark raised his stock a lot in the past few months, so I think right now it could be sort of a toss up where he goes. If not Sanchez, I think Josh Freeman would be available which would be a nice QB to have.

I dont see it happening unless they trade up. I see Sanchez going to the Jags. I don't know what the Jets would have to do to move up ten spots, but probably a lot, so I will go with a 1% chance of landing Sanchez.
The Jets have a better chance at getting Josh Freeman, who I think is better than Sanchez and will have a better nfl career.

5%? Sanchez is totally underrated. If lacking "experience" is his only real draw back, oh and only a very good arm "compared" to stafford and freeman... im not buying it. "Experience" has shown that freeman is terribly inconsistent and I doubt that will change and Stafford makes bad decision AFTER being a starter for 3 years. Put Sanchez in the Carson Palmer mold (sit out first year) and you've got yourself a franchise QB. Out of the Palmer Leinart Booty and Sanchez, i think Sanchez has the biggest upside.

haha nice comment about zac.
well i kinda doubt it my friend sorry to say.
id say probably 15% because the 9ers and jags have interest but singletary should think defense and i think he will cause their missing a pass rush and i think everette brown can be that guy. as for the jags, heck, they should just offered a big deal to david garrad so i think theyll draft a different player of position like Raji.
but the big prob. is that the broncos might pick up sanchez if hes avalible, mcdaniels may not be satisfied with orton or simms so he might go for sanchez but they should go for defense.
But like i said at your other post, jets should go defense but sanchez wont be so bad since you guys have a bombas* Oline.
as for holt, hmm i doubt it, he has interest in the south with the titans and Jags going for him

its TORRY holt... just FYI. and the chances are more near 10%.
