EOD? Any information you can give me would be great!!?
My husband is reenlisting. They gave him the option of infantry or EOD. He is leaning toward EOD. We have done lots of research, but any extra information you can give us about:
life while not deployed
where EOD units are stationed (at a handful of places, or all over)
rate of deployment
rate of gaining rank (is it pretty quick to move up through the ranks like infantry, or slower due to smaller size)
since AIT is so long (almost 40 weeks altogether) Will I be able to PCS with him for the last 28weeks in FL?
Any other information you have would be great, thanks!
Anything ?
Anybody else?

EOD handles destroying expired ordinance when not deployed. as far as i know aside from training thats all army eod really does on post.
i think EOD units are on every major bae
i think its shorter but more frequent deployments than usual
would be slower gaining rank after e5 or 6 since theres less in the MOS
you shoul dbe able to pcs with him
talked to EOD guys from each service, the army ones say that life sucks. just from experience the navy and af EOD handle QRF eod (where they chill on base until they get a call about htere being an IED) and army guys get stuck on trail blazer...which is a shitty job where they drive down the road at 5 MPH for like 8 hours a day. boring as ****.
