Can a dog sense things a person can't? HELP PLEASE?

Can a dog sense things humans can't? Answer please?

yesterday i was in the house just me and my dog was lying down and all of a sudden he got up and turned toward the couch and started growling and barking and was starring like there was something or someone there. Then like a minute later he layed back down, and a couple of minutes went by and he got back up and went to the back of the living room and started growling, starring and doing it again like something was there. This isn't the first time he did this he does it only sometimes late night when every ones asleep you can hear him down stairs growling like someone or something was there.

It has been said that dogs have a sixth sense and see things humans can't. I had a very similar thing happen to me with my 2 dogs and it scared the heck out of me. So if your dog is growling at what you think is nothing, it's probley somthing you can't see.

A dogs sense of hearing is generally better than a humans. Their sense of smell is extraordinarily better. Their sense of vision not so much, dogs are colorblind and only a few breeds see as sharp as a human. Look for rational explanations before you accept the supernatural. Which is what I think your question was suggesting. Pull the cushions off the coach and pull the coach away from the wall and look, it might be mice or insects. Put your ear to the wall and listen, again mice or insects, water going through pipes, may be causing noise. Look outside see if something is rubbing against the other side of wall. Check to see what time the dog is growling suspiciously. It might be a train whistle in the distance he's hearing. Dog's confuse them with howling. Good luck.

Is there any chance you could have a mouse. Dogs can hear like 100 times better then we can, or more not sure the exact.

You could have a mouse in the wall behind the couch, or behind the couch, or even in the couch, where the springs are etc.

If there is a window behind the couch, a bird could be seeing it's reflection and tap into it, by the time you get there the bird is gone. And yes it could be the same bird the next day. Or it heard a cat or something outside. Don't freak yourself out like it's a ghost. If you seriously think it could be, take some salt and sprinkle it on every doorway and window. And tell it it has to leave, it isn't allowed here anymore, to go to God or go to the light, but it must leave because it is your home and not theirs, and they are not welcome there. Not being dramatic, but just if you think there is, this is what I have heard you should do.

I wonder... If the person systematically going through this list and giving the thumbs down was "outed" by a dog over and over in his or her lifetime? I can think of numerous times this has happened with me even as a kid when I didn't "know" dogs. Our next door neighbor was just detested my our shepherd when I was a kid. I mean she HATED this guy. The other dogs wouldn't go near the fence but she would stand between the fence and our other dogs and snarl at him. My parents would correct her and put them in the house. The thing was, my parents were kinda friendly with them - and this was the 70's so things were different than they are now... us kids knew he beat the daylights out of his kids. I've had various dogs get wacked out over different people over the years. Never knew why. These were always dogs that were fine before and after. I've always believed you trust your gut instincts and those of your dog. Plus - Dogs respect DOG people immediately. Those of you who meet new dogs or do rescue know what I mean. It's instant. If you are in charge, they immediately know it and respond. In all my years of rescue, I've never been bitten and I've never been threatened by a dog and I've been around some abused and pretty messed up animals. Now if they instinctive know you are in charge, why wouldn't they sense if something was off?

My dog and cat use to behave like this ... turns out there were mice in the house. They both could hear them, and it drove them nuts. The cat would pace, and the dog would growl.

Ok, first of all you posted this in the wrong place, but I think dogs can sense abnormalities. They sense weather patterns, so why can they not sense ghosts.

I believe 100% animals can sense all kinds of things we cant !

You might want to have your place inspected for Mice lol .. but you should check out this article I found for you !

You probably have ghosts or spirits in your house. Don't worry, they won't disturb you much. Or your dog could just be really weird.

I think that they can, but I'm not sure.
