HELP!! ANYBODY THAT KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT HAIR CURLING PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!?

I have to go to the dress rehersal for a musical I am in for school tommorrow.

All the teachers said that they "strongly urge" us to curl our hair. So I tried doing in a few minutes ago and my curler kept putting these kinks in my hair and not curling anything, so I tried using another hair curler and it did the same thing! Then I even tried using ANOTHER and it still did the same thing! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong...do you know what I can do to get it to work??

Incase I can't get it to work do you have any suggestions of things that I can do with my hair to make it look "fancy" yet is easy to do? If this helps: It's supposed to be done as if we're going to a ball or something. Thank you for anyone that can help me!!! : )

PS I can't straighten it they already told us they DO NOT want anyone coming in with straight hair : (

I'm not sure what kind of kinks you're talking about...sometimes if you don't curl the hair correctly around the barrel of an iron it will kink it. Wrap it exactly the way you would like it to look when it comes off the barrel---smooth and in small sections. If that doesn't work, put some mousse in your wet hair, use sponge curlers, blow dry with a diffuser on low, unwrap hair off curlers and spritz with hair spray. If that doesn't work (some hair won't keep curl no matter what!!!) then you can put your hair up with bobby pins...use like 20 of them to put all your hair up. It always turns out elegant this way in my opinion!

Source(s): I have naturally curly hair.
  • If you use a product such as one that you put in your hair before you straighten it to protect it from the straightener and keep it straight, if that made sense, it should work just as well when you curl it.

I don't know if you're using curling tongs or a straightening iron for this, but most straightening irons curl hair very well. When you curl it, run the straightener down the hair and stop just before it finishes, then curl upwards. It will be easier to mold. Control the tongs with your wrist, turning it until it is almost vertical, and wrap the hair around it. Hold it there, but not for too long. Don't try to do too much hair at once, but also don't do too little or it won't work.

If you still can't curl it, sweep it back into a nice bun with a pretty clip to hold it in place.

After washing it out, blow dry your hair, this will give it volume and "fluff" to move around and do great things with it.

From the information you gave in your question - I am assuming that you have a hair straightener.

Did you know you could use it to Curl your hair?

    It's quite simple.

Act as though your straightening your hair, and turn as if your wrapping your hair around the straightener and pulling downward. This if you pull slowly will make tight curls, and if you pull at a medium pace will make looser curls. Also pulling it fast will mainly curl the ends and create waves.

Asking your mom or female older relative can also help a bunch!

A lot of online videos including straightening/curling techniques could help a lot more!

Hope this helps you, and good luck!

I would wash it out so that you can totally start over. Then pick the largest curling iron so you can have loose curls-theyre the easiest. You just need to make sure that you are wrapping your hair around it completely smooth and holding it for about 10 seconds [but no more than that]. make sure that all of your hair is touching the iron, that you dont wrap it around so much that it overlaps. if all else fails, look on youtube for how to curl hair. good luck!

what type of hair do you have? I know that I have to sleep in rollers for my hair to hold any curl. If you're curling your hair with a curling iron, it might be that you're holding the iron in too long. Have you thought about doing a basic bun? Hope that this helps.

i think i know what you are talking about.

sooooo, don't put your hair in the clasp-thingy on the curling iron.

just wrap your hair around the barrel and hold it there and put hairspray on if you want.

    :]
