Baseball Fans: Do you think Umpires Give a better Strike Zone for "Certain" Pitchers?

Example today

Mo, Today and Derosa At bat the Umpire called two Pitches Strikes and when Mo gets the Pitch there again he Calls it a Ball, and well is the Inconstancy and the Last Pitch i am going to be Honest it was a Ball , but i think the Umpire gave it to him b/c of his miss call 3rd Strike.

I think that some umpires give the benefit of the Doubt to more Veteran Pitchers than Hitters

What do you think

Update:

Wll i give some credit to Abstract for this Question

Update 2:

and Nick C

Happy you guys :} Lol

Update 3:

Nick C- Mo was not B!tching he showed some Emotion he rarely does , everyone in the Ball Park, every yankee and Joe Girardi and Myself were Thinking that Pitch was Strike 3.

    Of course

I don't understand why they do it though. The funny part was, Mo was b*tching when he didn't get that one call, even though he gets every other one. Even though he gets a ton of calls, he still gives the umps $hit. I don't know why they still give him all those calls.

And I deserve the credit for this question, because I know I inspired it.

    EDIT- ;)

  • Yes, no question about it.

Have you ever seen Prince Fielder's look after a pitch he believes is a ball? The look he gives the ump is awesome. It's like, "Don't you dare call that a strike, you would be an idiot"

of course cuz they will always have a favorite or something but a secret, and then if there was only like a ball but a few cm from the zone it would be called a strike and sometimes when the ball is in the zone it is sometimes called a ball cuz the umpire does hate some pitchers i dunno y

Umpire's will be Umpires. Some have different strike zones than others.

Like the other day, when I got called strike three on a pitch at my neck.

    Absolutely.

In the 90's Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz got the outside corner more than any pitchers in baseball, one reason we had the best staff in the game.

If you "establish" the corners early in the game, the umpire will give it to you consistently. So absolutely.

Indeed like many (first 2) said definetly yes. Mo does get the outside corner more than lets say a rookie.

Yes they do. Greg Maddux had a very generous strike zone
