What are Nevada's vehicle emission laws?
I'm supposed to be buying a car for my friend and driving it out to Las Vegas for him. Is there anyway to be sure it will pass emissions? I live in Michigan where no one cares about emission ratings and all the facilities to test are privately owned.
There are some exhaust leaks on the car I'm looking at now that needed to be patched, and I know that in Cali a modified exhaust will usually fail visual inspection even if the emissions are clean. Has Nevada adopted California's CARB laws?

1. You could pay a shop in Michigan to completely check out the vehicle as well as running as simple tailpipe gas check but the leaks will not pass Nevada's laws with patches on them.
2. Your vehicle can be exempt if it falls under one of the below.
Your vehicle is brand-new and on its first or second registration.
Your vehicle is an alternative-fuel model.
Your vehicle is registered as a Classic Vehicle.
