I just learned that I am 1 point away from severe kidney disease. I also have diabetes. I know that?

I will soon need to have dialysis to stay alive. I am not a good candidate for transplant. My children are grown.

Do you feel if I choose not to have dialysis and instead check-into hospice to allow my body to die naturally it would be passive suicide?

Update:

I am 62, on oxygen 24/7, have a very poor immune system, I had a mild TIA, I would rather not have a transplant so the kidney would have received would go to someone healthier than me.

Not knowing your medical history, why can't you get a transplant? My mom had one and her donated kidney was from a two year old girl who died in an accident. The only drawback is she's on anti-rejection meds to keep the kidney from being rejected. She's been going strong for ten years and is looking at another ten. The donor was and isn't related to my family in any way. There are other options. You need to be put on a list.
