hypothyroidism....any one know about this?
I have been reading that carpal tunnel could be fro this i have several of the symptoms for both of these and am trying to find some relief.
I cannot lose weight, I have a very physical job, 3-6 hours of constant work 5 times per week, i probably should eat better, or eat enough but I often get low sugar and get shaky, but anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do for a little relief of the carpal tunnel, I try aleve but it is just not working, wondering if there is anything OTC stronger than aleve or can i get a prescription that is stronger than 220 mg? of naproxen sodium? can i get something that really works to lessen the pain and tingling sensation. I usually wake up several times per night with this. any suggestions would be great!! does it sound like these could be connected in any way? I am looking for any possible answers to these symptoms i have posted another question on this and got some good answers just looking for more.

You could get a prescription stronger than Aleve but your family doctor would have to weigh that up with the severity of your carpel tunnel condition and other past medical history.
I had carpel tunnel syndrome when I had my children. It caused my hands to curl up in a ball and remain like that for about half an hour after getting up in the mornings. I had a splint made by a physiotherapist to keep my hands straight at night. Once I stopped brest feeding my babies 12 years ago I no longer had carpel tunnel syndrome.
I think your best bet is to lose some weight. I have hypothyroidism too and it is possible.
Once I started on thyroxine 16 years ago I no longer had hypoglycaemic attacks. Eat almonds in between meals as a snack.
Cakes and biscuits are out.
Eat half a cup of bircher muesli with some milk for breakfast or 1/4 oats cooked as porridge, or 1 boiled egg and one slice of toast for breakfast.
One piece of wholemeal bread and a small can of tuna plus salad for lunch. A slice of cheese or a cup of yoghurt could be an alternative to the tuna. Have 2 pieces of fruit a day.
A serve of protein the size of your palm and 3 vegetables at dinner. Protein source could be chicken, fish, beef or lamb. Pork is too fatty and not as good a protein source. Drink plenty of water.
