What does it take to be a Marine Patrolman or a Marine Law Enforcement?

What is the steps to become a Marine Patrolman, that handle crime, drugs, fisheries, safety ect. Do you go through regular officer training, then take more classes to advance? Thanks!

Update:

And I am more on the lines of a Police Officer, not the Coast Guard, thank you.

Update 2:

Like Not marine corps, or marines or military, but like the Law Enforcement, Wildlife and Fisheries. Cops on the water. The ones in center consoles usually. The ones who board you and look for drugs and illegal fish and write tickets, but NOT the coast guard. Thanks.

Depending on what state you live in, look up your state capital city government. if you call the state governing body that you live in, you will get the exact word for word info, the exact requirements, and depending what interests you have ie. specific jobs and where you should go for training, education/internships. you should contact the state capital regardless as you will want to know what your state will require to be certified to do this type of work. ultimately these types of jobs will require you to meet local, state or federal mandates in order to be qualified as they are government jobs. now typically these jobs are associated with the coast guard or the DEA IE. DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION. The DEA handles local, state, federal, and border drug interdiction and work hand in hand with the coast guard. all of your marine law enforcement ie. water, lakes, rivers, oceans are typically a multi jurisdictional effort involving more than one law enforcement body like the coast guard, drug enf administration DEA, the FBI, US MARSHALLS and ICE. as a former law enf officer, ive noticed that the state with the coolest and most kick *** water enforcement agencies are hawaii. they have a large flow of illegal activity from coming from the asian countries, including refugees, ice as in meth drugs, and everything under the sun! so if you are looking for lots of ocean law enforement opportunities check in the advanced states like california, hawaii, texas and boston/New york. all of these states have ports and large vessel traffic with a huge number of marine type law enforcement agencies. you will be able to find out the various governing bodies and the types of jobs they do, they have different names and varying responsibilities based on fishing, watercraft, sea vessel laws. but i would think that if your thinking of being a cop in the water, and you wish to avoid the military, you should check out state jobs in those areas mentioned, call their state capial offices. these folks will direct you towards their websites. lots of info, sorry so long, but hey good luck!!! ( good idea to learn spanish as a 2nd language as these water cops have to be literate and communicate with foriegn people ie. pirates lol, awesome job by the navy seals! peace..
