What role did nationalism have in Europe after WWII?

I need to write an essay on this for class, but I have no idea what type of things I should write about.

actually not an impoertant one. the countries that had lost the

war and were almost destroyed completely, were beginning

to rebuild, to pay reparations, to feed their population who was

practically starving, to "denazify" and so on. practically a whole

generation of men had been killed as soldiers. so the most

important thing was get food, housing and find jobs. no time

    for nationalism.

the nationalism on the balkans was subdued or supressed by

    installing tito and his yugoslavia.

on the side of the victors there also was a lot to be done,

    rebuilt and reformed.

basically WW2 divided europe into the influence areas of

russia in the east and the usa in the west.

people living there were not asked.

there was, however, revanchism. in countries where there had

originally been considerable german or austrian minorities -

the czech republic and poland for instance - these minorities were driven out and also killed by some millions. it was called

relocation ( politely ), but was brutality and also a crime against

humanity. this chapter of the post-war history has not been

    finished yet.
