Who is the real mastermind of our thoughts, actions and emotions?

If it’s we, can I say that the egos are our master then?

Thank you for your responds.

Mind with ego as its center masterminds thoughts, emotions and actions. But, it is better that the mind itself is controlled by the being. Ego should serve being, take direction from it and execute. Instead, ego has swallowed the being and lords it over; it can fetch only misery, not peace and joy

I like your Q. It is a difficult one since the definition of our conscious mind is nothing more than a collection of neural inputs. The physical brain collects, sorts, processes the various stimuli and together it gives that sense of the 'self'. The subsequent actions, that of speech, action, etc is a response to that stimuli. So it boils down to the question of 'free will'. Do we really have it? Or is it nothing more than a reaction to the external environment? Are we really making 'choices' out of 'free will'? It seems that way but is it? We have the so called 'higher brain' that seem to control our impulses and that we can even over-ride some of our basic emotions such as fear etc. It seems that we are controlling it but none of the physical elements of the brain indicates a separate driving force. Unless of course we believe in a 'soul' or some invisible 'self'. Sorry I am not answering your question but like I said it is a difficult one. My answer is I don't know. My theory is that we are somehow connected to an entity of 'one' which is the same as this Universe. That this 'one' is playing out an intricate play more sophisticated than any Shakespearean scenario. Just my simple idea.

    Thank you for the question

For many now days it's Video Games, MTV, horror and witchcraft movies and satanic worship.

Which establishes the mind set and all else follows.

The mind set is what produces the thoughts then the actions from the thought is taken and then one receives the emotional response from the combination of the two.

Thought and action on the thought is what produces emotional responses.

One can not expect to have and emotional response to thinking nothing and doing nothing.

I think the real mastermind of our thoughts, actions and emotions are circumstances beyond our control, other people who try and make life difficult for us and also destiny too. I dont actually think that the ego itself is the mastermind because a lot of us can control our ego through our conscience. We ourself are partly in control of emotions etc, but not even we can control the circumstances of external influences beyond our control...

Sure for some people... not everyone has a huge ego so wouldn't that mean that only a partial section of the population is controlled by their egos?

    There is only one you.

So the real mastermind is you, ego is also you, it's something you created.

if you realize ego is your master, then it's a good step to get out of it.

Our egos, strives to balance our performance function in our brain. Such as, the thinking, feeling, and acting of self that is conscious of itself and aware of its distinction from the objects of its thoughts and perceptions. This includes, the conscious aspect of the psyche that develops through contact of the external world and resolves conflicts between the id and the superego.

In short, the answer to your question is, yes.

I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are nothing like your Christ - Gandhi

This is the second time I have seen this quote used and what really strikes me as odd is here's a man who is a reputed spiritually enlightened individual of good morals, high standards and human intelligence and yet he too is given in to the stained reputation of true believers who are true Christians by the damaging words and deeds of religious people who call themselves (followers, disciples of Christ) Christians and never really knew God.

The Bible says you will know His people by their LOVE!

The Bible says any man who says he loves God and hates his brother is a LIAR!

People please if someone says they are a Christian and they don't act in accordance with the Bible (The Word of God) then that person is not a Christian and does not know God. and he is not a Christian, That person is deceiving himself and thinks he can deceive others and it sounds like many have been deceived by Christian - wannabees!

You probably heard it said, that it takes more than going to church to call yourself a christian. It is not being part of the ministry of Christ and going to Church that makes a person a Christian it takes more than sitting in Church to call yourself a Christian. You can sit in a garage until the end of time and it won't make you a car and you can call yourself a car all you want, but that too won't make you a car.

Read the Bible with faith! Study and meditate on God's Word and you will become transformed by your faith in Christ Jesus and you will understand what a Christian is and How to recognize a true Christian Brother or Sister.

    Remember...

    PROVERBS 3:5-7

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

For the Glory of God - In the mighty name of Jesus Christ - God bless you! <')))><

Ego is illusory, and mainly in the business of perpetuating itself. Most people live and die on autopilot. There's nobody at the wheel.

God created man a rational being, conferring on him the dignity of a person who can initiate and control his own actions. God willed that man should be left in the hand of his own counsel. Does that answer your question?
