I need some advice here please......?

I normally live in England and am registered with a dentist down there, however following a car accident I'm back home in Scotland while I recover, which could potentially be for another couple of months.

I have a wisdom tooth trying to come through but there's no room in my mouth for it and it's growing kind of diagonally out of my gum rather than straight up through the gum. It's partially impacted and I think I've probably got a bit of pericoronitis (infection of the gum around the tooth). It's pretty painful where it's trying to come in, and I think I probably need to see a dentist about it, but I'm 250 miles away from mine.

Anyone know how I go about being seen by a dentist up here where I'm not registered with anyone? I can't afford to go private, so it would need to be NHS.

It probably hurts a bit but is not infected. You can wait a couple of months most likely. However you will need to have it removed especially if it is impacted. It will mess up the alignment of your other teeth. Two months should not be too bad. I would not go much longer than six months to a year though.

Hm, if I were in your situation, I would probably try checking in at the local dentist and see what could be done.

There could possibly be a small fee but nothing too ridiculous.

Just ask, because it is a tough one.
