I was recently given an antique book "The Practical Angler" by Kit Clarke Publisher the American News Company. 1892. How do I determine if it is a 1st Edition? It's hardcover Maroon & green with gold leaf? lettering on the cover.

check out the copyright date. if there has been more than one edition it will usually say so.
