a point to existence? How does eternity provide more meaning and purpose to life than a specified time span?

Because their point of existence along with just about everything else is decided for them and they don't understand how you get to choose your point of existence and other things for yourself without having been told what to think. The time-span really has nothing to do with it, you can find meaning for eternity or for the moment, it's just that you get to choose and they don't get it.

I struggle to see this one too.

Lack of any god means that the specified time you have has greater meaning because you know it won't last forever.

If you know you will live forever then you wouldn't make the most of your life.

And the point about taking away fear of death - that's not true in my opinion. I think a Christian would be just as afraid of dying as anyone else.

without God our exesitence is in vain and there is no reason to exist, life is not as important because when you die its all over.

with God life has more purpose because you will spend eternity in the place of your choosing after death

well when you have a religion built round something existing which (maybe) doesn't exist the followers have just lost the reanson why they live how they do

You still have a point unfortunately the results of your point may not be as positive as you might like.

It removes the fear of death. You don't have to deal with the idea that you actually lose everything at the end because there is no end.

Hope for the 'hopeless'? ( 1 Corinthains 2:9.) Pretty simple.

This can be answered philosophically, scientifically and religiously. The fact that you fail to reach an answer in any of those areas tells me you wouldn't understand the answer if I gave it to you.
