Can cheese (any cheese) be tempura-battered?

Im actually quite curious. If anyone knows if this can be done please let me know!

Update:

The best are CHEESE CURDS. I usually make beer battered cheese curds because they keep in shape during frying. I have tried other cheeses like Colby, Monterey Jack, or Cheddar but they melt to fast.

I think you can tempura batter the Cheese Curds. Not sure if you can find them in any grocery store. I order them on-line.

You may try string cheese if you can't find cheese curds.

Cottage cheese is not really cheese.

And yes you you. Mozzerella is the best but you can also buy like chedder curds etc... that would be good.

Not any cheese. The best cheese it mozzarella. Freeze the mozzarella, batter and deepfry.

Source(s): I'd like to see you try cream cheese or cottage cheese. LOL
