Is dried, sealed cat food allowed in your luggage when flying overseas?

And how much? I read somewhere about a woman that moved to France with her cat and "2kg" or something like that is allowed. I live in France and my mom is flying over next week with my cat so she can be here too.

She has a 4 pound bag of food, which equals 2kg... thanks for any help!

Most Airlines allow you to have 2 baggage bags free and then you pay for every one. A good thing to do is plan 2-3 nights before your flight. Pick out your top 10 wants and pack them. Even if you can have like 10 bags it's usually not a good idea because: 1. You are prone to losing bags. 2. Personally, I think it's a pain in the butt to have all of your bags x-rayed and checked.
