My dog is eating my husband's dirty boxers, and I don't know why.. Only serious answers, please.?

i have a lab and she did the SAME thing. she would always eat boxers and socks. you have to keep clothes out of her reach, and give her bones or chew toys instead. this will keep her mind occupied. really, i think its a labrador thing. :)

Honestly its a dog thing. For one the scent of your husband is what attracts her to them. My dog for some reason chooses my socks and underware out of all my cloths and my boyfriends. This habbit is not a good one. Because if she's eatting them pieces can become lodged in the intestines and you'll end up with a costly vet bill. Buy a hamper or keep the bedroom door closed when your not home. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Keep an eye on him and don't let him sleep too much. The dosage may be too high,but in general the pill is not harmful. Make sure you have someone straight to drive him to an emergency vet if need be,just try and keep him awake. A shower if nothing else. Added. Is it codeine,hydrocodone or oxycodone? What milligram are they?

If you throw down 'dirty' underwear in front of ANY dog chances are that the dog will eat the crotch out of it. It's just their nature. Dogs can be trained to stop doing this. We got our dog to stop after he went through half my wife's dainties. Now he just satisfies himself with the cats butt. I have no idea why they do this but, as I said, they are easily broken of it.

well, this may sound funny- but dogs like to eat poop. even eating their own sometimes. my dog gets into dirty diapers my lizards poop, etc. It's odd, but she probably just smells it of the shorts. That's just what some dogs do. If you're still worried, go ahead and call the vet. hope this helps!

It could be that she "smells" the testosterone *sp?*, or could be the smell that he gives off after sweating. Maybe try to put the dirty laundry out of her reach. Maybe in the laundry room and shut the door.

i think you Husbands boxers are maybe dirty? Your dog might like stinky dirty things.But you should try feeding it foods that have meat and vegetables. Feed it some bacon treats also.

Since she is a female dog she must be attracted to the smell of his boxers. Its the same for guy dogs, my dog sometimes trys to sniff the crouch of girls when they come over...dogs are perverts
