I'm stumped. Why does my ShihTzu do this?
I have 3 little dogs, 2 shihtzu's an minature schnauzer. When ever I feed them my one shihtzu, wich is 2 guards the bowls! It doesn't matter if you seperate the bowls to different rooms, she's all over them!
The other 2 dogs are both about 5 yrs. old one was here b4 her an one after her.
She actually growls an snaps at the other 2. She's far from starving, she's my favorite and gets more then the others.
Oh, an if one of the dogs comes up behind her when she's at the door looking out, she'll turn around and biye their head off!
It's like she's very teritorial. You guys got any good thoughts on this?

You spoil her. Treat her like a dog. Walk her long and far, and don't let her get in front of you. Tire her out. When she respects you and decides you are the boss, she will stop bullying the other dogs.
Feed them in different rooms. Do not allow your 2y/o shitz into the room. If you are the boss, you ask her to do things like sit, stay, and down. You teach her tricks to stimulate her mind and give her something to do. Put yourself in her shoes. What would you do if you had nothing to do or think about 24 hours a day?

She thinks she is the boss. It may have something to do with you feeling that she is your favorite. She may sense it and feel that that places her above the other dogs. Becareful that she does not decide she is the pack leader and be sure to put her in her place when she behaves like this. She needs to know that you are the pack leader otherwise your problem with her will get worse. Dogs need to know what the pack order is.

The problem is that shes confused, She thinks SHE is the pack leader and it SHOULD be you. Its extremely apparant that she is your favorite, but with a pack of dogs like you have, playing the favorites game isnt good for anyone. It could lead to serius injury to you or one of them. You should read a book called Ceasar's Way, by Cearsar Milan. Hes awsome and i think it would help you greatly. Good luck.

Uhhh....yeah. She might just be territorial like you said. There are dogs that are like that, no matter how long the other dogs have been there. It matters which one is the pack leader and obviously it's your shihtzu.

All I have to say is, you shouldn't favor a dog. They all need the same love. A lot of dogs are just territorial.

You've admitted it.. she's spoiled and thinks she's the boss over the other dogs.
Unless you are willing to act like the alpha leader here and correct her behavoirs, they will just continue.
If you want to correct the behavoirs, I suggest you google NILIF (nothin in life is free) and learn that training method.

she knows she can get away with it cuz she is your favorite and she knows it. you need to make her wait to eat.let the other dogs eat first then when they are done you can bring her in to eat. just put her where she dosent have to watch them eat.shell get to anxious .
