Believers: Does God really perform miracles?
Why would your God only perform miracles for some people but not others, even if they are devote followers? Why would he perform miracles for some innocent babies but not others? I am interested to see what your justification is for this. What makes some people more special than others?

I don't know why some are singled out more than others, but I do believe in miracles. My daughter is one. She had Leukemia, was on the critical list for 3 weeks, very nearly didn't make it but by some miracle (and many prayers) she came through it. Been in remission now for 32 years. Yes, I am a total believer and I know first-hand that miracles do occur.

Ask one of the many soldiers from the veterans hospitals who came out with their arms and legs regenerated through the miracle of prayer if God performs miracles. Ok so some have one leg a little shorter than the other. Still that is better than no leg at all. a platform shoe will fix that right up. And a few have grown an extra finger on their restored hand but it does improve their shadow art. God's miracles are truly working for our Iraq veterans. Some have even managed to return to their old assignments in Iraq after having their limbs restored through the miracle of God.

Absolutely nothing makes them more special. It is up to you to prove that. You claim it, I deny it.
1) How could God NOT perform miracles. Just to bring new life into the world requires God. And reason tells you what St Paul says is true (and he is quoting a pagan philosopher anyway) : "In God we live and move and have our being".
2) And what is to justify. If you've decided God is unjust and unmerciful nothing will undo that. Miracles don't directly prove anything that way. The evil hateful demons can work miracles.
I just don't find you a reasonable person.
Your whole point seems to boil down to, There can't be a God because there is suffering in the world and everybody doesn't get the miracle that would deliver them here and now. But that makes a mockery of the message of Jesus, who certainly suffered and was innocent.
I just can't follow you in your assessment of Jesus, of life, of what the Bible teaches, of what common sense demands.

Well to start, I don't have to justify God.
According to the bible, He has performed miracles randomly, like the woman who touched the hem of His garment.
I wont question His miracles, just be thankful for them.
You should also.
EDIT: To those who say "there are no miracles", that is like saying there is no such thing as 1 million dollars, just because you have never been blessed with it.

Different reasons I believe.........a it is enough ....some people want a miricle when the person has and is going through so much .God just says it's enough,
Sometimes the miracle is to show the Glory of God and the tesstimony of that person is important.
Sometimes it is just the right time to take them home...they are as close to God as they are ever going to get.So he lets them come home. Some may have the miracle to strengthen their faith and for others to see the change. All things work to the Glory of God to those who love him.

Of course the Lord performs miracles! Look at the whole universe. You can not tell me all of creation, including human existense was not created from a higher being. Man could not have created everything from nothing, and it didn't just evolve or come into existense from nothing.

Most miracles are chance and have a logical explanation. For example: Was God watching over 50 Cent when he stole that jewelry and got shot 9 times? Obviously not, maybe Satan was... Or maybe there were no supernatural forces involved and he just so happened to get shot in all non-vital areas.

1. God doesn't perform miracles. It's just pure power and natural to him to do what he does. To us, it may seem a miracle.
2. Just like I can't explain why you choose to eat some foods and not others, I can't explain why God works wonders for some people and not for others.
However, I don't think as a Creator that He is pleased when His creations don't do what they designed them to do. And God does not force his mind into the mind of people. Those who choose to separate themselves from the source of life, are choosing death. Sin itself causes the destruction of humanity, and sometimes our children suffer the consequences of the parent's actions. It's not God's fault, and we can't hold him accountable for bad things.

To those who put their belief and trust in God. Ive seen it loads of times. Its not just about prayer but action.
The thing is, you may not know how 'devote' a follower they are. They pray but they don't act. For example, they want a job, they pray but don't go out to look for the job, or they only search online; so God can't perform that blessing or a miracle for them.

He did for me, I just got a 640 on the GMAT, after getting only 600's or worse on all the practice tests I took.
He answered our (my family's) prayers over here.
Maybe many times we don't see the miracles?
