My little finger is about 2 inches ~ 2 * 2.5 cm = 5cm
And 5cm = 50 mm
=>
answer C
*******
Area of the square = 36 cm²
<=>
sqr (36) = side = 6 cm
Perimeter = 4 * side = 4 * 6 = 24 cm
=>
answer A

Well, think of a ruler. A mm is pretty darn small. So .5mm would be an ant's finger, 5mm would be a bumble bee's finger, 50 mm is pretty close to average, and 500mm is the Jolly Green Giant's finger.
A square is equal sides. Area is LxW. What X what is 36? How about 6 x 6? so if the sides are 6 each, and perimeter is the total going around the square, then it would be 6 + 6 + 6 + 6, right???? So 24 cm
I hope I not just gave the answers but helped you think about the question too.

1) 50 mm = 5 cm which sounds about right but it could vary. so [C]
2) a square has equal sides. so if the are is 36, it would imply sides of 6 cm. as 6 x 6 = 36. so if a square has 4 sides then, 4 x 6 = 24. so the answer is [A]

Just remember there are roughly 25 mm in an inch - that should help you estimate distances.
On the second question, a square is the same in height and width, so what number multiplied by itself gives 36?
6.
So if each side of the square is 6, and there are 4 sides, the answer is 24.

5. x/-7 + 10 = 7 (-7)x/-7 + 10 = 7(-7) x + 10 = -49 x + 10 - 10 = -49 - 10 x = -59 6. -12x = -48 -12x/-12x = -48/-12 x = 4 7. r/7 = -8 (7)r/7 = -8(7) r = -56 8. j/-11 = -11 (-11)j/-11 = -11(-11) j = 121 9. n-6/-4=6 (-4) n-6/-4 = 6(-4) n - 6 = -24 n - 6 + 6 = -24 + 6 n = -18 Bonus points for showing work. Haha. It's not hard, but it's been years since I've done this. Check your book, champ. You'll get it! *Edit* Just looking at other people's answers. Seems like I have a different one for #5. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm just trying to use P.E.M.D.A.S... hope I got it right!

1) 10 milimeteres = 1 centimetre
10 milimeters = ______ ish
so c 50 mm
2) the shape is a square. So it means same lengths of the sides. so you know to find the area it is length times width. And length and width are the same. So you want to find the factor of 36 that are equal. 6 times 6 equals 36 therefore sides are 6 cm each
perimetre = total length of all sides = 6*4 OR 6+6+6+6 = 24 cm

1. C
2. A
area is LxW=36. and since its a square all the sides are equal so take the square root of 36 . which would be 6 , so 6 x6 = 36 , since one side length is 6 the perimeter is equal to 4 side lengths do 6x4 which equals 24.
hope that helped:D

2) is A 24 the area of a square is the length of one side squared so 6^2 which equals 36. then if each side is 6 you have four of them 6x4=24

1 = c
50mm = 5cm our lil fingers are closer to that than any other of those answers
2 = 24cm
6 x 6 = 36
length and width l x w= area 36 = 6 x 6
perimeter = 2l + 2w = 24

1 is C because its about 5 centimeters long. (which is 50mm.)
#2 is A because the area is 36, or 6x6. so 6+6+6+6= 24
