Do you ever feel guilty?

When you go to some other section of Answers like Science and Mathematics and find some answers so seeped in ignorance that you all but call the people who answer them morons.

I can understand wrong answers in areas where you are expressing an opinion, or if there are several possible correct answers, but when you go the the Mathematics section and you see answers that get volume and area confused, do you wonder what is becoming of today's educational system and why some people even try to answer at all.

Then, later you feel guilty about being rather harsh when, in your answer, you sort of call them stupid for theirs.

No answer is completely right just like no answer is completely wrong. Confusion is forgivable if you look at the intent of the answerer. So what if they confuse area with volume - it all takes up space and their intentions were honorable. You don't call them stupid - you just say something like - I think you mean volume instead of area because...(then explain the difference.) After all - is white the absence of color or the presence of all colors? Think about it. Stupid is as stupid does. (a quote from the great thinker - Forest Gump) You won't feel guilty if you don't make others feel stupid (or call them stupid). Make them feel enlightened. Then if they don't accept your enlightenment - let them remain stupid.

Well I do not think people should be asking for answers to there homework on here anyway, so if I give them the wrong answer that is there problem. I have already got my A* in maths so that is my work done lol.

I usually e-mail those kinds of answers to avoid publicly humiliating people. I've told off a few for their ignorance.

I think people give answers they know are wrong because they think it's funny, but maybe some people really are that stupid.

Don't judge, it's not a test, enjoy the answer,

and lighten up a little..............have fun

    I plead not guilty!
