How much is this car worth, How much would you pay for it?

1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse base model (non-turbo)

Cosmetic flaws, old black Mitsubishi paint, purple driver's side door (with dent in it, rest of body is straight).

Mechanical flaws, smokes, was told it was most likely the valve seals, cost to repair $800, but does run and drive. 5 speed manual. 110,800 miles on the car and drivetrain. Has new battery, plugs and wires and thermostat if that means anything?

Plenty of little extras here and there, smoked tail and reverse lights, 8 mids and highs total with amplifier (no subs), relocated battery to back of car, fog lights, whole interior blue and black, except for seats and seat belts, fiberglassed and painted headliner, push button start, too much to list, plenty of details on car's CarDomain.

Reason for asking is because I might have someone interested in a car trade, so I was just wondering what kind of value the car has with the flaws and if the extra work done to it adds anything to it.

The car's details: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3055986

Also, the car doesn't have the 5 spoke alloys anymore =(

Thanks in advance!

Update:

Im not a huge fan of KBB's estimates because they are so vague.

As for everything else, the paint works and its been holding up to pretty extreme heat and no cracks (yes, duplicolor is the **** haha good stuff), and of course the carbon fiber vinyl isnt gona dd value, its just for looks, so ppl dont like it, thats y its a sticker, which CAN be peeled off if the buyer wanted to do so, as for the exhaust, if u didnt notice, its not even on the car so no **** it isnt doing anything for the car, its uninstalled, the car is indeed a project in progress, thats y the cars name (at the top of the page IS "The Project" im still working on the audio and I still have fiberglassing to do as it says in the details, and rear speakers do have backpressure they are sealed, the car is for fun, not for sumone who wants a stock car its for sumone who understands this car lifestyle. And whats a generic switch? they all work, yes they are good for looks as well, they are nice heck theyre billet haha!

Update 2:

And obviously the car is not built for speed, nor do i try and act like it is, the car isnt rice, i dont see any vents, oversized mufflers, oversized spoilers, underbody neon kits, etc etc. the hood pins are the closest thing to it (ill admit to that) the car has a 4 cylinder non turbo engine, I dont claim for it to be fast as hell cuz i know it isnt so hows it rice?

As for the estimate on the repairs, it says it in the details ($800)

Obviously the car isnt made to be put into back to stock condition. The interior is for looks, and I know of Sony's reputation with mobile audio but I chose it for a reason.

Update 3:

And this car is definitely not for sum1 who is afraid to touch the car, or take it apart and put itback together!

A good forum to go to is either NADA or Kelly Blue Book for pricing used cars. Depending on the mileage, your location, and the condition of the car, it can affect the price. Check both sites since they can vary on their values and estimates.

Unfortunately aftermarket modifications don't hold much value. If a car is very customized, the total effect of all the changes can increase its value, but a 300 dollar stereo does not necessarily raise the value of the car exactly from 5000 to 5300 dollars, just as an example.

Has the car received its 120,000 mile services?

Take the car to a mechanic and get an estimate of the cost of the repairs, and ask the owner if he will subtract the cost of the repairs from the total.

After 80,000 miles the value of cars begins to drop, as the engine gets closer to having components fail due to age and wear/tear.

After looking at that car, I can tell you this:

Carbon fiber "look" does not equal Carbon Fiber. It is considered tacky.

It looks like he pulled a lot of the interior components out and most likely used rattle can spray paint from Auto Zone. (EDIT *yes he used Dupicolor and Kryon fusion paint, its cheap rattle can paint that will begin cracking and fading eventually)

The same goes with his generic switches and neon lights. Those don't add value to a car.

His "exhaust system" is simply a generic can muffler that doesn't add any horsepower gains because it retains the stock piping. It might make it sound like rice, just like it looks on the inside.

Sony XPlod audio is the Wal-Mart of car stereos. It is the cheapest besides DUAL and won't raise the value, especially if you want good quality sound.

His speaker system he installed himself is quite bad. Many of the speakers don't have any backpressure. Especially in the center console. The speakers need the area behind the cone to be pressurized or at least sealed, to provide the 'punch' when making sound. That is why most subwoofer enclosures are sealed, or are vented according to very precise measurements to maximize the air flow and movement.

Basically you will be getting someone else's project. Because it wasn't done professionally, the 'behind the scenes' of what he has done might be ugly. For instance, the hood pins he put on, the holes he's punched in the stock parts for new speakers, and all the wiring to be run, will be expensive if you want to make 'back to stock.'
