Why would you play, if you don't wanna win?

Because the game itself is my own winning. I may not come out the winner but by making myself enjoy my journey towards the end, I have learned things and meet worthwhile people along the way.

Also, sometimes, it is in losing that we learn the finer things in life. Perseverance, for instance. That and graciously accepting defeat and bouncing back even higher whenever some setbacks occur.

The norm is that in every race, competition, contest, etc there is only one winner.

More often than not the thrill and honour of taking part is more than sufficient, ask any Olympian.

If I were to box against Manny P. I not only wouldn't want to win, I wouldn't expect to win but by golly gosh would I have some stories to tell about my bout.

Sometimes, participation is good enough. For now, we need the experience and we have to further hone our skills. Later, we will shine and win, win, win (hopefully!)

Winning isn't everything. But it sure is great to be a winner. Just ask the politicians! hahaha

Winning isn't everything in a game.

There's fun to be enjoyed; it is one form of entertainment. It also helps to pass the time if one isn't busy or needs to relax. And, of course, a good antidote for (physical and mental) lethargy or immobility.

I play to win. But sometimes (or oftentimes) I don't win. So I just play to play.

Hmm... now I'm scratching my head.

it is how you play the game that makes you a real winner.

what would medals and trophies be if in the end you don't have any friends.

I've never won any game not even in chess but when i throw a party all my opponents are there to share every memorable event with me.

my friends are my real trophies they can always beat me in any game.

Just to enjoy the play itself, only having fun...

To build self-esteem in your child, you kinda have to lose to them. Can't think of any other instance
