Adam & Eve on eating the forbidden fruit will die on that day itself. But Adam lived 930 years, so was God wro?

Answer: No. 1 day in God's eyes=1,000 years of 'human' years. Adam died after 930 years. It was still 'one day' for God. So his declaration was not wrong....is the argument correct?

As 2 Peter 3:8 says a 1,000 years is as one day to God. So 930 years still leaves 70 years from being an entire day in God's eyes.

Further, by his not killing Adam & Eve in 24 literal hours, God allowed the human race to continue as they had no children at that point.

By allowing them time to have children, God showed his loving kindness to all humans. He also demonstrated how Isaiah 55:11 is true that God causes all he designs to be done exactly as he planned. Never is something allowed to be undone by anything in the universe that God plans.

No. Adam and Eve had eternal life and the Tree of Life was in that Garden also. The moment they disobeyed God death came into the world. Before that time there was no death in the world. Their sin caused a great fall of mankind. A curse without a cause does not come. Proverbs 26:2 Sin caused the curse of death upon man. Sin is disobedience to God.

Adam's physical body didn't die, but his innocent mind did. Everything is all fine and dandy, running around naked and all, doing God's will and being ignorant to bad things because all they did was good things. Then they ate the fruit which opened their eyes. This is the point behind the dying. They realized what was good and bad now and thus became enlightened, which in turn caused them to die in mind, because they now can choose whether to follow God or not. Crazy how God punishes them for becoming enlightened, I guess God originally wanted humans to be puppets that he controlled instead of free people who can control themselves.

The Bible does not technically say they will die immediately so apparently, apologists interpret that as now we're going to have to die eventually. Implying humans would have been immortal.

FYI, I read that the first part of Genesis used years based on the lunar cycle...If you take the ages and divide them by 12.something then you get the solar years....what we use.

It works out perfectly until Abraham, who's age is too short for a lunar calender and too long for a solar year count.

Edit: LOL-See. What did I tell you? 'They did end up dying'~Well, I guess they finally agree on something!

  • They died a Spiritual death and had to leave the land of paradise or Garden of Eden for their sin. Since then man has had to earn his living by the sweat of his brow instead of everything just being there for him. If you know God as you personal Saviour and then backslide and not serve the Lord any more - you too have died a Spiritual death but you are still alive and well in body.

A day to us passes us by in 24 hours. We are inpatient. A day to God is a thousand years, he is more patient. When they were told that they would absolutely not die.(If they eat from it) He (or the Satan influence) meant that they would not die on that day.or any day because God was lying. When God told them that they would die, he meant" eventually" because they were intended to live forever, but disobeyed the only rule given..so their original fate was altered.

They did die, they Died Spiritually and Physically as Adam's Body and Eves began to age from that Point , before then they were immortal in their physical bodies

The argument is not correct since it supposes God, Adam, and Eve all existed, and it implies that snakes can talk.

God did not say that he would physically die that day he said they would spiritually die that die.

No one day was 24 hours not the 1000 days to us is one day to God.

It didn't say they would die on that day! IT said they would die! This meant physically and spiritually. They would have lived forever, but they sinned and were damned to hell after their death. Not right then.
