In Excel, how do i lock rows to always be on top of a spread sheet?
A spreadsheet that someone else wrote has a feature were rows 1 through 15 are locked in place so when scrolling down only 16 and down (up, numerically) move. This is also marked by a black line under 15. How can I recreate this on a new spreadsheet?
If my description doesn't make since, please ask for more details.

Select the row below where you would like to 'lock' the rows.
Now go to Window > Freeze Panes.

Locking rows is very easy. You would highlight the cell just below the last row that you wish to leave visible. Go up to Window > Freeze Panes.
If you wish to lock the columns as well, you go to a cell just below and one more to the right of the final column. That would lock both the column and the row. Ex: You have data in columns A-E, rows 1-5. To freeze both row and column, highlight cell F6, go to window and freeze panes. To unfreeze panes, click in an empty cell and click unfreeze panes.
