This sounds like a diver issue. If you don't have the disk that came with the keyboard try this:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_download...
Just match up your model and grab the diver.
Another thing to check is the Control Panel --> Keyboard area in Windows XP and see if XP is detecting any problems with the keyboard.
Good luck!

Try rebooting the computer with the keyboard connected. There also may have been a disk that came with it and it may have software that needs to be installed to make it work correctly.

?!?!?!?
Are you using a usb hub? if so, try connecting directly to one of the jacks in the computer, especially if you have other things in the hub.
(Like throwing darts with a blindfold here)
Plug the thing in, and try the add new hardware wizard. Sometimes Windowz needs a little coaxing.
If it's a PS2 (the little round purple connector). Methinks you need to plug in, and then reboot.
