I swallowed something, WILL I DIE?
i swallowed a sore throat reliever called "CHLORASEPTIC".
the instruction said spray 5 times, my mom read out the instructions and it said to keep it suspended where the pain is (in this case my throat) but i waited a few minutes before spraying it in my mouth, eventually i forgot NOT to swallow it.
and so i did...
am i going to die??
what are the side effects? it doesnt say in the bottle.
my tongue is now numb like an elephants foot(u know, coz its thick and all)
plz dont call me stupid for drinking it i have a high GPA.
=P
p.s.
i fear i have the swine flu coz i have a very bad sore thoat and i live in queens NY where they reported over a hundre infections.

I have used Chloroseptic for sore throats ever since I was a tot, and I have swallowed it... You kind of have to. It's only dangerous if you use more than the recommended dose--there is dosing information right on the label. Five sprays is nothing, so just calm down. I've been here for 25 years, having used and swallowed Chloroseptic for most of them.
If all you have is a sore throat then you are most likely fine. If you had swine flu it would be accompanied by cough, runny nose and fever. If you are concerned, head to the nearest urgent care to get checked out, but I really think you are freaking out about nothing. Just remember to cough into the inside of your elbow, try not to touch your face too much, and wash your hands often.

You will be fine, the risk of swallowing chewing gum is more to do with choking, people swallow their gum accidentally all the time, some even do it intentionally. I too am a bit of a hypochondriac and worry about every single pain or ache I get, but the more you worry the more you will work yourself up more. Just relax, if anything bad was going to happen it would have happened by now.

if there arnt any warnings that said "not to swallow" or what would happen if you swallow then i think your fine. also if you think u are comming down with anything then i think u should see a doctor to be safe. as it says here on wikipedia.............. "chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort. The strain responsible for the 2009 swine flu outbreak in most cases causes only mild symptoms and the infected person recovers fully in a few days". hope it helps sorry

your OK as long as you didn't take a huge does if you did call poison control and sorry to hear that you might have the swine flu I'm scared myself

No your not going to die. It's something you put into your mouth anyway, why would they make something that will kill you if you swallow it for your throat.
