pros and cons, universal, disney, oct.?

Hi there. We went to Disney and Universal/Island of Adventure last October around Halloween. I would say the Pros were better than the cons.

1) The weather was great. It was warm most of the days and very comfortable. Not too hot like in the summertime. Also we did not see 1 drop of rain the whole week we were there. I dont think Orlando gets much rain in October.

2) The lines were usually small. I think the longest we had to wait for any ride between Disney and Universal was 15 min. If you dont want to wait that long you can always use fast pass at Disney.

3) In October the parks have Halloween things going on. The Magic Kingdom had a special Halloween party that went on until midnight or later some of the nights. I wanted to go to that but I had a fussy 2 year old with me. lol. Universal Studios had a Halloween thing too.

The only con to the whole trip was the parks tend to close early in October. Disney closed around 8 or 9 unless you went on the special days that stay open late but the crowds then are unbarable. Universal Studios also closed at 6 which I thought was really early.

Overall the trip in October was great!!! Have fun!!

In october Disney has a 'not-so-scary' halloween party, all the characters are dressed up and it's decorated with pumpkins and stuff. I've never been for it, but I hear it's great! I would love to go during that time, less busy and extra fun!

Cons? None! That's a good time to go. Generally October is a good slower crowd time, especially early October. Go!

not many cons, if i can think of any. The pros:

1. less crowds (if there is such a thing)-the children are back in school

2. the weather may be more comfortable-less humidity

3. less bugs-the bugs come out in may -september

4. better prices on accommodations
