There is dried candle wax on my dorm room carpet. Any tips on how to remove it? Thanks!

get a towel damp and lay it over the wax, then iron it. This will warm up the wax and bring it onto the towel and off the carpet. Use and old towel you don't care about because the wax will probably stain the towel.

Well I am not totally sure but perhaps if you heat water until it is scalding hot and pour it on the spot then dab at it with a towel. Do this a couple of times until the wax is gone. I don't know if it will work for sure but at least it wont ruin that spot on the carpet so much by cutting and scraping at it. If you are not worried about the carpet so much then cut it but it sounds like that you are worried about it or you wouldn't try and clean it at all. I would try the scalding hot water. Cant hurt it. I think it will work though. Then after you do that try a carpet cleaner that you can spray on and vacuum up. Might draw out any wax that is left over. Don't boil the water though, I don't know if it will melt the synthetic fibers in the carpet or not if it is boiling water.

    Good luck hope it works.

    Try this:

Put a piece of brown paper bag over the spot. Take a steam iron on a low or medium heat setting and place it on the paper for a short time. The heat will make the wax wick up into the brown paper. This tip saved me after candles at my son"s wedding dripped onto new maroon carpet. I got the tip from a friend that runs a janitorial business -- and it worked like a charm!

Put the iron on the medium setting get a dish towel lay it on top of the wax. Rub the iron in back and forth motion lift the dish towel and it should come off. If the medium setting doesn't work use the high setting. You may need to use more than one dish towel don't lay the towel back down once you have removed it. That will just transfer the wax back on the carpet. Tracing paper works also. This is also good for crayon. If heat doesn't work lay a bag of ice on it and let it set then use butter knife to remove the wax.If it doesn't come up easily though don't force it you could damage the carpet.Good Luck hope it works.

If not all of the wax came out try iron with waxed paper. Just put the waxed paper over the area and iron it for a minute or so on low, the wax will come right up. If all the wax is gone, try Oxy Clean. I've had soo many times when I've used this and it works every time. Just spray the area and if necessary rub with cleaning cloth, let sit to dry or vacuum excess off surface. Hope this works for you!

You could try pouring hot water where it dripped, then scraping or vacuuming it. Just don't scrape the wax too hard after using hot water, or you'll just splash it onto other spots on the carpet.

You could also use a carpet shampooer, which uses hot water, and will suck up the wax as it softens/melts with the water.

Make a pad out of paper-towels & use a warm iron above to melt wax.

Boil some water and pour it on it and it should scrape off pretty easily. The water should evaporate or you could use kitchen towels to dry it up.

    Hope that helps! XD

Scrape it as much as you can

and then "gently" cut off the rest
