Do you think this is serious enough to last?

Hi. I am in a relationship with a senior and I am a junior. We have been dating for a long time and have had so amny ups and downs. We have had times where i have had to forgive him and the same for me. But we have come out of each situation stronger than before we went into them. We have been bumpin heads and have ended the little arguments and have decided we love each other to much to continue fighting. But the thing is he is going to the airforce boot camp in texas, 2 weeks after he graduates in June. he seems fine with the distance and I am okay with it. but everyone keeps saying it won't last. What do you think?

Long distance relationships can work. Boot camp is really tough though. A lot of time with no communication. No letters, no phone calls, no emails. In boot camp, those things are luxuries. There will be nights he's not allowed to call, not allowed to write and nights when he'll be so tired he can't lift a pen to paper. The best thing to remember through boot camp is to not cry, not tell him how hard it is on you. It will be ten times harder on him without you telling him how much your hurting. Write to him often. Real letters. They'll be the best thing for him. Tell him how proud you are of him and how much you love him. Tell him you miss him but don't dwell on it. Good luck!
