I would think Sanchez will start given that Favre is gone and the QB depth chart is unimpressive. As far as tough schedules go, the Panthers have a rough one due to the fact they play the Falcons, Bucs and Saints twice then they play the AFC East division which is very competitive this year. On top of that they have games against the Eagles, Cards and Giants so the road wont be an easy one for them.

I think that Kellen Clemens has a shot to start week 1, but if Sanchez outplays him in practice I think he'll start. Also, even if Clemens starts week 1 I'm sure Sanchez will take over at some point in the season, unless Clemens has the kind of year Jon Kitna had in Carson Palmer's rookie year.

I would be happy if that was the case, since I think Sanchez can learn a lot by sitting out a year, but I also think that he has the football IQ, work ethic and passion to be effective this year. He doesn't have the kind of arm strength that makes some rookie's transition to the NFL easy, but he's extremely accurate on short and mid range passing routes, which is going to be the vast majority of the Jets passing game since they're going to use a run heavy west coast offense.

Also, their best receiving threats is Cotchery, a good possession wideout and Dustin Keller, a freak TE/WR hybrid who's fantastic at finding ways to move the chains, so their skill sets should fit not only the Jets offensive gameplan but also Sanchez's abilities.

He'll have three good running backs, two of them veterans, and a fantastic offensive line that should really start to gel in their second year together.

The thing about Kellen Clemens is that he was brought in under the old regime, and it's apparent that the new coaching staff isn't that high on him. If they felt like he would be able to start next season they would have addressed other needs, unless they just liked Sanchez that much.

If Kellen Clemens looks like he's putting together the experience in the Jets system with his arm strength he might start,

Same answer to both - Sanchez. They didn't give all that up to draft him so he can ride the bench for some other young QB. If the Jets had a veteran QB it might be different, but it makes no sense to start some other unproven guy ahead of the big draft pick.

I think it would be a better idea to just start Sanchez. Look at what starting Flacco and Ryan early did last year. Sanchez would probably do the same... I heard from a lot of places it isn't good to keep your big draftee QB benched for a season or two (Aaron Rodgers).

I am a Jet fan and even though Coach Ryan said he likes Clemens expierience in the system I believe Sanchez has to be the guy. If they did not plan on starting him in the first few weeks they would not have taken him at 5.

Leinart might not start, Warner is still fighting to get the job. Farve's a sure thing. Go with Brett.

Sanchez, without question. He will have a great year, I honestly believe. Now mine on him vs. Stafford, if you don't mind.
