Vista questions: Moving to Vista?

Q1.

If I install vista in a Disk with XP, do I need to redefine the partitions? Or, I can just format the C: and install? just like always.

Q2.

Which version of Vista is the fastest, given the same hardware? Ultimate or Home Premium?

yes you can install vista by simpaly formatting C:, no need to redefine partitions if they are defined properly. vista needs more system drive space than XP.

ultimate version of vista is loaded with lots of features which is not available in home premium. you can install new windows 7 instead of vista. vista has lots of problem which is fixed in windows 7

    That is correct.

    Q2

    >Which version of Vista is the fastest, given the same hardware?

They all run at the same speed -- the underlying engine found in all versions of Vista are the same. The Ultimate version just comes with features not normally found in Home Premium. Of course, activating all of the features will naturally cause your computer to slow down because they require RAM (example: Dreamscene)

definite you favor to format Cchronic for installation vista. otherwise make a clean partition (in case you dont have) and installation Vista in it. I heavily recommend you no longer to bypass for vista. It SUCKS.Wait until eventually abode windows 7 sturdy is released.

    Just need to format C:.

Home premium is faster of the two.

However, why do you want to move to vista. it just eats up chunks of memories for some pretty lame visuals and functions. do check for availibity and compatibility of your hardware drivers.

you may want to wait for windows 7 which is very light.
