I never take the bottom 3 drivel as absolute fact. It's a reality show at the end of the day; they can portray the bottom 3 to be any combination they want. I do think that the eliminated contestant is always the actual lowest vote-getter though, they won't override that.

And keep in mind that Ryan never said that Adam and Matt were the bottom two; he only said Kris was safe. I don't think Adam was in the bottom 2 for a second. This could be just a ploy to rile up his fanbase to avoid complacency and make them vote harder in the future.

    ETA:

In respose to Halo: Where in my post did I say I'm an Adam fan? Right, nowhere. But I'm not deluded enough to think Adam doesn't have a TON of fans. So stop jumping to conclusions. It's not THAT big of a deal. My favorite's already been eliminated; at this point I'm neutral towards them all, so I'm calling it like I see it. It is those with favorites though who typically don't realize that there are things going on behind the curtain.

Go back and rewatch the episode. Ryan ALWAYS makes a point to mention that they're dealing with the "bottom two". But there are indeed times when they aren't as forthcoming and don't put the actual bottom two in the end. This is when they are very careful with their wording. Ryan NEVER mentioned it was the bottom two. He only said one of them was going home. This isn't the first time this has happened.

So please, stop taking a reality show at face value, when their biggest concern is ratings (which is what they achieved last night with their shock "bottom two"). They could care less about being completely honest and forthcoming with the viewers.

The show is not rigged or manipulated in any way. This was a similar situation to how Chris Daughtry was eliminated in fourth place despite him never being in the bottom 2 before. Probably the same thing that got Daughtry sent home is what landed Adam in the bottom 2 and that is his fans getting overconfident assuming that he was going to be a lock for the next round and felt like he didn't need the votes as much. Bet you next week his fans and people who like he ought to win (like me) will vote for him like crazy even through he has an advantage in the theme being rock n' roll.

Nicole I think hit the nail straight on the head.

I'm just a casual viewer of Idol and actually a fan of Allison, but you'd have to have your head in the sand not to realize they manipulate stuff all the time. If you're gullible enough not too see that(*cough*like some of the people answering here) you're pretty much playing right into TPTB's hands. Congrats.

They can't do that! Look, you need to understand that no one is safe. Adam had the second least number of votes so yeah. They'd cancel the show if the producers made a catch. It was all real. Plus people were overconfident that he was safe.

As for knicole ,who said Adam wasn't in the bottom, HE WAS! Are you blind? He was there and stop denying it, just because a favorite was in the bottom, doesn't mean you got hit by car.

Actually, for a while, people on here swore the show was rigged for Adam to win. And even those who didn't believe that just assumed that he already had it in the bag, so maybe that's what really happened. Maybe everybody just assumed that he was going to win, so they didn't feel they needed to vote for him. At this point in the competition, everyone votes for their faves that they feel really need the votes. Like, back in Season 5,when Kat McPhee messed up her lyrics, her fans voted twice as much to save her, so Chris Daughtry ended up going home that week instead (at #4) because his fans already assumed that he was a shoo-in and didn't think he needed the votes as much. I hate to admit, but I actually did that a little myself this week. I really want an Adam/Allison Finale, but Allison almost went home last week, so instead of giving them an even split of votes like i've been doing all along, this week i freaked and gave her more because i was scared she could go home. But while i was trying to save her, I almost lost him. So maybe that's what a lot of people did. Maybe a lot of his fans already assumed he was going to win, so they were voting more for who they wanted with him in the Finale (Danny or Allison),like I did. Anyway, I'm just glad that Adam didn't end up going home because of this. I'd feel bad, then. But it was definitely a wake-up call for me and hopefully it was to all of his fans that you can't just assume anything. If we want Adam to win, then we all need to VOTE.

It is rigged, we all know there is no way Adam would be in the bottom two. I think it should have been Kris instead, but they put Adam just for the drama of it all.

I believe he should have went home. There are more people out there than you think that aren't Adam fans, like myself. HE is too cocky and yells too much when he sings. It all sounds the same. But yeah I think it was all right. Sorry just my opinion.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that Adam Lambert is NOT everyone's cup o tea?! I don't like him, I'd never vote for him and apparantly millions of other americans like someone else and their talent more.

    Not rigged.

I was happy to see Adam in the bottom three. It made my day.
