What color drapes would look right?

We recently painted our dining room orange. Not clown orange but like a burnt orange. The trimming in bright white. I am having a hard time deciding on what color drapes i should put in there. The dining room chair covers are orange and gold with hints of green. Any ideas for drape colors?

I have two large windows in that room and just having blinds in doens't look right, doesn't make the room look complete. Help!

Brown with a little less intensity than the burnt orange so as to not overwhelm your chair covers. Stare at the burnt orange and you might be able to see the brown undertone in it--that is your shade of brown color. You can look for something that combines the brown with hint of gold. I wouldn't worry too much about the green, just toss in some plants like a philodendron .

I'd say go with a dark gold silk or faux silk(less wrinkly). I've seen some very pretty faux silk fabrics that have small, simple embroidered flowers in warm tones, like burnt orange! The shine of the silk would be appropriate for a dining room too. Take it one step further by using drapery hardware that matches the wood tone of your furninture. Decorative rods/finials and rings add structure to the shiny silk. You can either pull them back with decorative medallions to match the drapery hardware, or use braided tiebacks with a splash of all color.

It might sound too "matchy matchy" but it will work if your objective is to pull the room together, not create a "focal point" out of the window.

When you were describing the color of the burnt orange, I was thinking in my head that a sage green (rich color green) would probably look nice. Almost like fall colors. Since it happens to coordinate with your chair covers (doesn't have to be the same green to complement) that seems great! A light khaki would also probably work also.

If you do not have any patterns in your room now. If you could pick up the color of the couch with a striped cranberry red and deep brown or navy it would look great. It would add interest to your room. You could pick up the colors in the drapes with throw pillows or a throw for your couch.
