  • Toddler Screaming at Naptime and Bedtime?

Our daughter is 17 months old and has always been a great sleeper. For the last week though she has been screaming at naptime and bedtime. When I try to put her in her crib she latches on to me with a death grip and I have to pry her off. I've tried letting her cry it out, picking her up and soothing her, leaving a light on.... nothing seems to make going to sleep less traumatic for her. I thought it might be night terrors but she doesn't put up a fight when my sister-in-law watches her. Its only when I am around. So then I thought it was separation anxiety but she doesn't scream when I take her to the baby-sitter's. I am at my witts end and don't know what to do anymore.

We have a set routine at bedtime and when she does finally go to sleep she will sleep for 12 hours at night and take 1 3 hour nap during the day.

I've also had her to the doctor and there is nothing medically wrong with her. I just want to know if there are any other parents out there who have dealt with this and can offer some advice to a mom who is about to lose her mind.

  • Law for Health Insurance?

I work for a small business and we offer health insurance to our employees. Times have gotten tougher financially and we are forced to cut costs where we can. We have one employee that doesn't pull his weight. He makes too much money for what he does, plus we pay for his health insurance. In an effort to have him keep his job my boss wants to cut his pay and stop paying for his health care. This employee has a wife and could go on her plan. I was just wondering if this was legal. Because to me it seems like if you are offering insurance to the other employees you would have to offer it to him too.

Any advise is welcome. I value my job and i don't want to see my boss make a huge mistake and get sued for it.

This december is my daughters 1st birthday. We want to have all the family and our friends and their kids there. however our house is not big enough to accommodate a large number of people. Since it is in december and we can't have it outside we were looking for an indoor spot to host her party. I've looked at chuck e cheese but was wondering if there was something else out there.

  • Rule on Lutheran Godparents...?

My husband and I want to have our daughter baptized. I am Catholic and he is Lutheran. I have agreed to baptize her Lutheran but I don't really know the rules. I know for Catholics, you can have one godparent, and if you have two then it must be a man and a woman. I was trying to do a little research but haven't really found a site that can explain the Godparent rule to me for Lutherans. The main problem we are having is chosing a godfather. I would like to have my brother and he would like to have one of his. Is that allowed in the Lutheran Church? Or can we have more that 2 godparents? I guess I am a little naive when it comes to other religions, I know that Catholic and Lutheran are all Christian but not sure on the specifics.

So if anyone can enlighten me or point me in a direction to find out more information I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you

  • Our dog is too protective!?

Our dog, Rajah, is 3 years old. My brother-in-law found her in an abandoned house in Detroit and brought her home and we took her in. We have brought her around other people, and had other people over to the house. However, he will bark and growl at anyone who isn't my husband or I. And I am not talking about just initially either. At the moment we are waiting to move into our new house and have been living with my parents for the last 2 months. Rajah still barks and growls at my parents. She also refuses to let anyone else take her outside. We are expecting a baby in 2 months and I am worried about how Rajah is going to react to the new addition. If anyone has any suggestions on how to correct her behavior it would be great. We love our dog and she is part of the family, but if it came down to it, she would have to go... I just don't want to see that happen.
