Thoughts and tips on the Ruger SR 9?
I purchased a SR 9 the other day and I love it so far.. I have had 1 failure to eject out of the approx 250 rds I have put thru it in the last couple days, but has been good other that that.. So I am just lookin for anybodys, thoughts, tips, opinions, facts or information obtained from experiance with the SR 9.. And also what do you think of it compared to the XD m 9.. thanks..
It weighs 26.5 oz, so not as heavy as the P series, The shell stayed in the chamber, and yea I clean it often and I do use a brush in the Barrel..

did the empty stovepipe or stay in the chamber?
Rugers are usually pretty fool proof... I'd keep shooting it and it should break in pretty well. Pay attention to the chamber when you clean your gun... most folks fail to scrub that out with a brass brush... I use a .45 cal brass brush on 9MM chambers... tight --but it gets the crud out.
I'd note were your brass lands too... an ejector thats adjusted right and works right will tend to toss brass out to the same spot every shot.
compared to a XD? I respect the Ruger... but dont like em...too heavy and very slablike... I find the XD fits me better and like the controls better (if you are gonna saddle me with a striker fired pistol I like the grip safety)
Source(s): brush out the CHAMBER good... the big end of the barrel... back closer to the grip end of the gun. If your leaving brass in the chamber clean up the gun and lubricate leaving a very light film of oil in there...your pistol should break in and work ok
