He picked New York city because it's one of the most famous cities in the world, as well as one of the largest, and it happens to lie in the United States, which was all the better for him.

The twin towers serve as an icon of how commercialized western civilization has become. Nowadays, it seems like the only thing our culture ever involves is commerce of some sort. By destroying a symbol of commerce, he's trying to send a message about the destructive and self centered nature of western culture. (Western Europe, U.S and Canada, Australia, and Japan)

The Twin Towers were the World Trade Centre, so all sorts of business & transactions went through them by targetting them the whole business & i suppose the world in general would grind to a stand still... & that pretty much happened. New York is also one of the busiest citys in the world.

& I don't know what the hell Sharona is about nobody mentioned anything about Islam.

Well, he was also aiming for the Capitol, which is close enough to New York.

And New York is very populated, plus the twin towers were a big deal in America. Why not?

Pingo you've got to be kidding. Osama bin Laden is (or was if he is no longer alive) a real live person, documented and well-known. He didn't just appear out of nowhere on 9/11/01.

I think that Bin Laden does not exist.

He is only a ghost. No evidence that he exists.

Only those videos that are not accepted as an evidence in the law.

He is only a ghost to sell the Islamic terrorism theory.

I don't think he benefited from this act.

All the benefits were for who conquered Iraq and Afghanistan.

Islamic people are the most hurt people by what Bin Laden did (If he did it).

Because he is/was an idiot. Or maybe because many of his kind believe that the US is controlled by Jews, and that NY is all Jewish, and the Towers represented the center of their power in America. Who knows, I personally believe the guys flying the plan just aimed for the most visible target on the skyline of NY.
