How to prevent car dings and dents from careless people?
I live in an apartment complex where we park next to people. This is the only time my car is parked next to someone other times I'm in a safe spot at my job. I've noticed two small dents and have even seen my neighbor with her door WIDE open just getting something. I haven't seen her actually hit it but I know it's her because the paint color.. What can I do to prevent this??? :(

Try changing your parking strategy. Don't park next to two-door cars, because their doors are much longer and open wider than those on four-door vehicles. Park only next to nice newer cars, as junky car owners are less likely to care if they chip their own paint job. You also want to try parking in a corner so you would only have another car parked on one side of you.

Like the previous answer. Don't drive it. However, aside from that sarcastic remark....if you are worried about dinging a expensive and quality built car, then in my opinion you're buying beyond your means. You can park wisely, but **** happens. If people are keying your car its not because you are driving an expensive car. Keying a car is not an accident. A grocery cart sliding down the side can be. You'd be less stressed to buy a used car, save your sanity and money. But...you may want to look at yourself. Are you maybe a little careless where you are parking. How can a garage "ding" your car. At the end of the day...as long as you get from a to b safely and in hopefully in some comfort...then, that is all that matters.

There really isn't much you can do, unless you want to confront her about it. The good part is you can have small dents and dings popped out for under $100. But that won't do any good unless she stops hitting your car. So without putting some kind of physical barrier around your car ... not much you can do. I don't know if a padded car cover would help any, but it might.
For self gratification you could ding her car a couple of times (just an idea).
