Why are people who are against big government control often also against unionization?
Isn't forming a union the opposite of big government?

Not true at all! I tried to get a union into where I work. But EEOC denied us! I do believe that there are some good unions, but the sad fact is that the unions tend to side with the Democrats.
You see, I am a true conservative, however, I am not a Republican! I do vote independent, or rather, third party.
I am against big government for their ripping off of the people through taxes that they use for their SIG's (Special Interest Groups) Unions are needed to keep the said employers from ripping off the employees, and in some cases, you do live better. But some of these unions have went over board with employee treatment (Work less-get more!) thus causing a chain reaction that eventually will offset prices.
In some cases, a union gives you a voice within the company that you are working at.
Organizing a union, and big government should two different things here.
The reason why a lot of people that are against unions is simply because of who the unions associate themselves with. That being Democrats. The Sad fact is this: the Democrats are also for BIG government, and BIG government spending. The Democrats are also pro labor. The Democrats need a reason to raise our taxes and (sadly) the AFL-CIO is a supporter of the Democrats because the Democrats happen to be pro labor like I said. Thus the unions support the Democrats on most fronts when there is an election. In other words; "I scratch your Back, you scratch mine!"
I hope that all of this made sense for you.

Uhhhh, sport, not sure where you're getting your logic there. Unions are always begging government for more and more protection.
But, I'm a Libertarian and I have absolutely no opposition to workers forming unions. I just want the companies who employ them to be able to do what's in there best interests if they do. Seems fair, don't you think? Most importantly, when the union strikes, the company should have the right to place ads in the paper the same day seeking people who would like to come in and work.

No a union is also a form of government. Most government type entities reduce the power of the individual.

Because the real goal is corporate control of the country.
Government regulations and Unions fighting for the rights of regular workers both get in the way of that.

No, its not the opposite its the same. They are two nuts in the same peanut shell. Basically collectivist don't want to go it on their own but are herd animals and want the government and the union to protect them from individualism.
They want the government to insulate them from their own bad decisions and they want the union to insulate them from the results of their own incompetence.

Unions are for the fat and lazy who use union leverage to get their raises and benefits with absolutely no regard for the health of the company.
