Movies are not 100% truly based on religious events. Movies are for entertainment and hence some modifications, some diversions are needed to make it spicy.

"Invincible" with Mark Wahlberg. Story of Vince Papale (Philadelphia Eagles) back in mid 1970's. Great story. "The Rookie" with Dennis Quaid. Awesome story!
