Who watched the post game report with Babcock and the ducks coach?

That Ducks coach is a whiner....I am glad we have Babcock who showed some class.

The Ducks coach said the hit was not dirty, that you are allowed to take the body.....then he was asked about Franzens goal and he sneered and said 'ain't that something'...like it was a bad no call. The play was dead when the contact with the goalie occurred.......you would think a NHL coach would know the rules.

Update:

Todd.....I am saying that the play was dead. I don't like goal tenders being involved like that but the coach of the ducks acted like there should have been a penalty. That was the only point I was trying to make.

Update 2:

Oh and Todd, I have been a Redwings fan since 1984...watched a lot of hockey in my 60 years.

Jeez there are some ignorant people on here!

How in the name of God was that goalie interference Ducks queer? Franzen scored and had NOWHERE to go. Maybe if your dumbass players got out of the way he would of moved. But he SCORED then had no choice but to hit the goalie. Did he use his hands or anything? No, he tried to get out of the way but im sure Pronger or some other duck idiot was skating in his way. And as for Hudler's hit, he was on a long shift and was dumping it in for a change. If you noticed he was going to skate to his bench, and he was making sure the play wasn't coming his way. He wasn't admiring his pass "hockey fan for 25 years". Oh and you are a REALLY bad Wings fan if you don't back up one of our young stars. You may be a Wings fan, but you are a enemy to them in my eyes. And how does his visor cut him unless he is hit in the HEAD. I think that is a penalty but what do i know i haven't been a fan as long as your glorious self has. He received 10 stitches and still came back in the game. And the first guy who answered this question...i believe it's a goal not a point.

Let me answer your question. Note: I am from DETROIT and a HUGE Red Wings fan (and a hockey player of 25 years).

    1. Brown hit on Hudler ---> Hudler shouldn't have been admiring his pass. Also, Browns shoulder hit Hudlers head (which is fine, that is NOT a penalty). Hudlers SHIELD caused all the bleeding. That was a legal hit (it wasn't an elbow, it wasn't a hit from behind, it wasn't interference, it wasn't intent to injure).

    2. Franzen (or anyone) can't run into the goalie. That is a much different thing than checking a player. The goalie is protected at all times. IT DOESNT MATTER IF THE PLAY WAS DEAD, YOU CANT RUN OVER THE GOALTENDER.

Go WINGS and Nice job LIDSTROM!
