91 formula 305, little voltage to fuel injectors, car starts only with ether?

car ran when purchased but engine would break up at 400rpm

Update:

when car did run it broke up at 4000rpms. What would cause virtually no voltage to the fuel injectors?

    your car should idle higher than 400 rpms but for the little volts try a bigger battery that is more cca

    ECM connections or Module is failing intermittently once the circuits heat up. Most of the time simply cleaning the electrical connections on the ECM module and the connection plugs to the fuel injector rail will correct this on older Muscle Cars with fuel injection.

    Also check the fuse panel under the dash, there should be two 10 amp fuses, one for each side injector rails. You are not looking for blown fuses, just old or corroded blade fuses or sockets. This also heats up if any oxidation is built up, and will send false signals to the ECM, then to the injectors when the engine is up to higher RPM's.
