Should Softball enact an "innings pitched" rule for pitchers?
I realize pitching styles are different between baseball and softball, but wouldn't it make for a better game if a team had more than 1 or 2 pitchers?
I just read an article about a high school pitcher who has pitched 7 perfect games in her team's first 11 games. And of course the world isn't fair, but that's a bunch of hooey to me. It happens in college too where one pitcher will start every single game of the World Series.
I guess it turns out to be a 2 part question. Should they change/make a rule about pitching in softball to prevent one pitcher from starting every game? And wouldn't it make for a better/more interesting game/season?

I don't agree with you at all. You shouldn't limit a great player from playing if they're good. Most people can't pitch underhand, so you're only going to get one or two pitchers per team. It really doesn't hurt to throw underhand as much as overhand. Our pitcher pitched 8 games in one day at the state tournament. She threw over 800 pitches in the tournament and her arm was perfectly fine. It seems as though the only people that want this rule are the people that have to play against a team with a very dominant pitcher. No one wants to have to lose to a team for four years in a row because their pitcher knows seven pitches and can pitch in the mid-60s. But you shouldn't make a rule so that the team without the really good pitcher can win. You'll most likely only get one of these pitchers (at your school) once. You have to use her while you have her.

I do agree with this, in the beginning of my teams softball season, we had two pitchers, one good and one bad. Then, finally the coach realized that there were three others worthy of pitching, so now we have five pitchers that we rotate, and it all turns out to be even playing time. Sometimes pitchers aren't good on certain days, so more pitchers allows coaches to be able to take pitchers out, and replace them. Besides, by the 6th inning in a high school game, the pitchers arm would be thrown out, and that could cause countless injuries.

No there are no limits so in a situation like tommorow (Game 7) anything goes for teams because they need to win so pretty much all pitchers have to be ready to pitch anytime in the game and its not unusual to see the ace starter pitcher come in for a few outs if he's needed.

In softball players have to flexible meaning able to play more than 1 position.(fast or slow pitch) When I coached in the military my players had to play more than 1 position. Besides you never go to a tournament with 1 pitcher.

I see the argument to that but it just seems like you are crying because something is not going your way. It is like you are saying someone is too good so you need to change the rule to beat them.
The reason there is no innings limit is that underhand is a natural motion and the arm does not get sore. This is why there is no limit. No there should not be a rule change.
