Is it O.K. to wear swim trunks for shorts?

I wouldn't. Especially if they have the elastic waist band. I'm definitely a fan of cargo shorts, i wear khaki's daily. But if your not that kind of person, there is plenty you can do. Hit up American Eagle and Hollister (maybe) to find some nice board shorts, not swim trunks. They are more acceptable as just a daily outfit, especially if you can pull em off well. Pac Sun also has some really nice board shorts, and you might even try Zumiez. Good Luck :)

I definitely agree with the whole cargo and jean shorts being to heavy and hot.

So, I would say that wearing the Kailua lined swim trunks looks fine. They look just like regular shorts. I might actually buy some now.

But, the East Hampton Big Pony Trunks in my opinion just don't look like regular shorts and wouldn't be to appealing as a replacement for regular cargo or jean shorts.

And, cutting out the nets inside wouldn't really matter, its not going to mess them up or anything. ( ex. my friend had a pair of swim trunks and soccer shorts that had that sort of net lining on the inside, and he cut it out and they were perfectly fine.)

As long as he has underwear on underneath they should look like normal shorts. Swim trunks look like shorts and they do cover a person completely. Its not like a girl's swimsuit which is inappropriate in school.

Those are perfectly fine to wear as shorts. You don't really need to cut the liner out unless it bothers you. The liner is to give your stuff some extra support. Cargo shorts should have never been invented. They are extremely hot!

I think it is a little weird, but hey, what do I know? If they look like swim trunks, I don't think it is a good idea to wear them. And it also depends on where you are going; if you are walking on the board walk, fine, if you are at a party or get together, no. I hope I helped! : )

i like the shorts, with some abercrombie and hollister tshirts or ralph lauren polos i think they would look cool and preppy and kinda surfy type. do it!

and im a girl, but i can imagine those shorts getting really hot in the summer cause all my friends wear them. soo hope this helps!

I really like the second pair, but it's because that's my kind of style. I think it's fine, they will look good. If you wear a wife beater or a plan white shirt with them it wouldn't be that bad. What are you supposed to wear, short shorts?

I think it's okay, as long as it doesn't look to Hawaiian and isn't really noticeable that it is a swim trunk. Cargo shorts doo look heavy, and I bet it's hot in them too. But they look nice overall. =]

Why should you cut out the swimsuit lining? Keep it, then you can wear the shorts as regular shorts and as swim trunks, since it is summer that isn't weird at all.
