Pernell Whitaker vs Manny Pacquiao. Who wins?

Whitaker was a "Defensive Master" the man could box your ears off and make you miss almost every shot you threw. Manny on the other hand isn't a "Defensive Master" but the man is extremely aggressive and had one punch KO power.

This fight would be almost like the video game Frogger with Manny trying too smash Whitaker played by the Frog. The reason I favor Manny in this match up is because Whitaker had a tenancy too be TOO DEFENSIVE. He would sometimes make an opponent miss 10 shots and then instead of coming back with a few of his own he walks away and turns his back or taunts. In a 15 round fight he makes Manny miss loads of shots however It doesn't discourage him he keeps coming and Out-Works Whitaker too a decision.

Great fight, and I have to tell you, this is one tough call. I think Whitaker would have pulled it off, but Manny has the ability to KO anyone, and the speed he brings would make most welterweights think twice. It would be a tough fight, and the decision would be controversial, but in the end Pernell Whitaker could duplicate Eric Morales's performance and do enough to get the nod.

Hard to say, the fight would be close no matter how you slice it, depends on the judges criteria most likely. Manny would come forward throwing combinations but Pernell would change angles on him so constantly that he wouldn't have time to set and his punches would not have that much sting on them if they did land, which most of them wouldn't. I don't like to cop out like this but I see this fight as a draw, Manny would aggressively stalk and outwork Pernell, but Whitaker would land more punches, and they would be cleaner as well.

My pick is a unanimous draw in a somewhat boring fight.

Pernell Whittaker is one of the most perfect fighter. 27-1 below 147...he would change angles and use the sweetest science in the storm Paquiao would bring. He was fast with amazing defense. As long as we dont have the De La Hoya / Whittaker judges Pernell wins.

Manny has the arsenal and the speed to score against a craftty Sweet P, even though this will go the distance, the judges will prefer Pacqiuaos aggressiveness and he will the decision.

Pacquiao by TKO. He's too damn fast.
