Billboard advertising next to a major freeway... any tips?

Our business is located within close proximity to a large freeway. We would like to setup a sign on the neighboring property. The neighbours have agreed but would I need to contact anyone else? We are located in Sydney.

    HI,

If it is a pvt property you MUST enter into an agreement with them for a year, which could be renewed again.

If the VIEW or the millage you are going to get from the billboard is on the side of a highway, or obstructing any traffic rules you pl check this with the nearest RTO ? ( Road transport office) OR any other licensing authority.

I am sure you could also ask any of the ad agency there reg other rules and regulations etc.

If there is any plan to illuminate or put lights here on the billboard, you must mention this also. in a form if RTO comes to the picture.

I also suggest and recommend that you approach an insurance agent and insure the billboard. do not take chances... with storms in Sydney!

Do not paint the hording- there are so many cost effective ways avilbale now depending on the sixe.

    all the BEST

Keep your message simple and short. If people are driving by you only have about 3 seconds to get your message across, so anything more than a visual and directions will be a waste of time. You may also want to consider changing your board a few times because some people may see it again and again...
